Wedding Day and the day after
I'm thinking I'll keep this entry a little short as it's late and my eyes are closing slowly. Saturday was the wedding day so we thought we'd keep it easy and not do to much. We started with breakfast at the House of Pancakes with a big group of the Hamilton clan. About 25 in total, and that wasn't all of them. Then the slow leisurely walk back to the hotel through downtown disney. Kathie took a detour to the Hollywood Tower and Screaming California and the Grizzly River Run before joining me and Allie back at the hotel. Kathie needed a little bit of thrills before the party.
The wedding kicked off at about 5:00 in the Rose Garden under grey and threatening clouds. Just as the ceremony got underway, it started to rain. So we all moved up under the gazebo and enjoyed an intimate ceremony standing close by Brian and Corine. Brian and Corine did a wonderful thing, they had pictures of Don (Brian's dad), Hannah, Auntie Helen Green and Creighton O'Malley. All of those people had a strong influence on Brian and on Corine as well, but more indirectly. The wedding was beautiful, Corine looked absolutley stunning, Brian looked very handsome and very nervous... it was so beautiful and we are so thankful to have Corine in our family - not that she wasn't before, but now its official!!!
After that the party moved indoors and we had a wonderful party that lasted until after 1:00am! There was good food, dancing and lots of fun for everyone. We even had Mickey and Minnie drop by for some dancing and to help cut the cake (which by the way was the most delicious wedding cake I've ever tasted!). Allie was awake until about 10:00 and then crashed hard. She ended up sleeping on the floor behind our table for a couple of hours and didn't mind the noise at all.
Sunday was a day of rain and many changes of clothes. It was only a little overcase when we left for the park just about 11:00. We met of friend of mine, Gary, in the park. He brought his daughter Mia and we went on a few of the rides in Fantasyland and Pooh Corner. Allie seems to love the Dumbo, Carousel and Pooh's Adventure the most. We headed back to the hotel about 3 for a quick change to dry clothes (which are all hanging in our bathroom - looks like a laundry mat!) because of the torrential rain. It rained like it does back home for about an hour and we had only some makeshift rain ponchos. But we returned and met up with Cheryl and Lisa as well as the Millmans from Victoria, and a bit more rain. Allie wanted to go on some rides so we did a few in Fantasyland before going to the western show at the Golden Nugget. After that it was back to the hotel, quick change for Allie, pick up Dorothy and head back to the park to go on Finding Nemo. Due to the rain, the park emptied out pretty early and it was very quiet inside. Still, we ended up waiting for about 25-30 minutes for Nemo. I'm sure if we had gone to other areas there would have been no lines anywhere. The Nemo ride was interesting and fun and Allie got into it near the end. When it first started she was a little nervous and scared but soon was more relaxed and started to enjoy the show. It's a little loud in the submarine and dark so that's was was getting her tense. She does want to do it again, so that is a good sign!
We ended up at the Jazz Kitchen for dinner with the Christensens from Tofino and Linda Reids family from Richmond. All in all a good day except for the weather. Hopefully it will be better tomorrow. At least drier.
Well, I'm going to sign off. Have a great Monday.
Lots of Love,
Tore, Kathie, Allie and Beautiful Angel Hannah
