Hey there,

Sorry about the long break but last week was a week sooner forgotten. Nothing terribly bad, just a week we didn't need. On Sunday the 4th, Kathie had a minor problem. She'd been having some pain on the right side. Turns out one of the incisions had opened and put her at risk of an infection with the tissue expander on that side. A long delay in the ER at VGH resulted in a hastily scheduled operation Monday morning to remove it. That was purely precautionary. It will be put back in in a couple weeks when she's had a chance to heal. However, that did result in a 4 day stay at the hospital. Kathie got home on Thursday night and we prepared for a quiet weekend at home for her to rest and recover. This little procedure will delay the reconstruction surgery a few weeks but it was necessary to do. If they hadn't done it, there was possibility of infection which would be really bad.

But we did have a nice weekend. We a few errands to run on Saturday, one of which was to buy a new lawnmower. Our old gas one was starting to fall apart. The engine was still in good condition but the rest was rusting away. So with some earth friendly thoughts, we bought a push mower. Kathie wanted one so that she would be able to cut the lawn when she's all better.

Sunday was Mothers day and I want to wish a belated Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers out there. I hope you all had a nice day with your sons, daughters and grandkids.

I topped off the weekend with a viewing of the movie Iron Man on Saturday night. It was a very good adaptation of the comic book hero and Robert Downey Jr was very good in the role. I'm looking forward to more movies from Marvel Comics. I'm also looking forward to Indiana Jones and the Dark Knight. Both should be lots of fun and great additions to those series. The Incredible Hulk should be an interesting change but with a nice tie-in to Iron Man thrown in.

Otherwise, we're running along smoothly. Allie has a Call Back from an audition she did a couple weeks ago. It's for a toy commercial. Hopefully she'll get the role!
