A lighter heart
As I have done just about every night for the past two years, I walked over to Hannah's tree in the park across the street. I usually have a few quiet moments with my girls before heading back inside. As I stood there tonight talking to Kathie and Hannah, I mentioned that I was hoping they would get a chance to push the snow button later tonight and keep it pushed until, well, whenever. No sooner had I said the word 'snow', then I felt a few flakes on my face. I turned a little to look at the street light to confirm what I thought and what to my wondering eye should appear, but a few snowflakes drifting down. A smile hit my face and my sorrow and heart were just a little lighter. It was like Kathie and Hannah had been listening and wanted me to know that they were thinking of me.
I had to take a couple of extra moments to listen to the snow fall. Have you ever really just listened as the snow falls? It's weird to think that the snow makes a sound as it falls but if you get enough flakes falling, it does. It's quiet but it's there. It's one of the things I look forward to in winter.
I think I'll sleep easier tonight.
Lots of love
Tore, Allie, and Beautiful Angels Kathie and Hannah
